In the Intermediate course (A1>A2), our focus is to improve your vocabulary, accent and intonation, spelling, and sentence structure. By playing games, listening to stories, and completing and writing texts, you will extend your vocabulary, and you will learn to speak and write better Dutch. The lessons will cover actual topics such as the news, art and culture, and literature. In addition, national holidays and seasons will be discussed.
The course consists of 14 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes each in the morning (9.30-11.45 AM) or in the evening (7.15 – 9.30 PM).
After every lesson, there will be homework. Homework can cost you about 5 hours per week. The total study load is around 7,5 hours per week.
The course will be completed with an exam, which has a written and spoken component. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation (80% presence needed) and an exam result.
Taalthuis values personal attention for all participants. Therefore, the maximum number of participants in a face-to-face class is 12, and 9 in an online class.
The textbook ‘Kom maar binnen‘ and the grammar book ‘Het Fundament‘ are handed out during the first lesson. If you are enrolled in an Online course, you will receive your books at your home address before the start of the course.
